Damn it i just got my car back 4 days ago from the mechanic shop after sitting there for 45 days. It needed a new clutch, oil seals, and antifreeze coolant lines thanx to a f-ing leak. So after spending maybe $1200 parts & labor (since i cant & dont have time to work on my dsm myself) So today my car just shut off at a traffic light on me, it wouldnt start back up. So we thought it was the battery that died on me. We went to Walmart and got me a new battery. Tried to start it & it didnt for the first few tries, the engine would turn over but wouldnt start. But than seconds later it finally started. But i head this weird Knocking noise coming from the bottom end of the engine. I dont see how this sh!t is f-ing possible to be a rod bearing because i just had a fresh Head Rebuilt 3,000 miles ago. Does anyone know what could have happened, or is it indeed a rod bearing issue. I did notice the oil somewhat dark when i checked it, and to my knowledge my mechanic changed my oil when he put the clutch in. Last but not least, is there a chance i was crankwalked, its my biggest fear. I HATE MY DSM!!!! WHY OH WHY CANT THIS CAR EVER RUN FOR ATLEAST A WEEK WITHOUT A PROBLEM

Any help will be appreciated

Probably a rod or balance shaft bearing. Either way, your motor's done. Sorry.

This is more than likely the culprit. Having just the head rebuilt is going to do nothing to prevent something from happening to the rods since they are found in the bottom end of the engine.

I had a friend have this happen to his car just last weekend, and his car is showing all of the same symptoms. It's only going to get worse and it's probably time for a new engine. :(
