Hi guys, my Shepherd tranny with almost 2000 miles on it has $hit the bed...i was coming home tonight and it made this really loud clunk and the car was pulling very hard to the left, i steered to the right and heard another clunk and it was going straight and all was well. I slowed to a stop because I noticed my speedo wasnt working and while i was slowing i could hear a slight grinding noise. I rolled my car by hand and found tranny fluid dripping underneath it, and it was coming from directly above the passenger side brace. I took the brace off to find the transmission casing ground away from the inside and fluid coming out very fast. does anyone know what might have caused this failure? maybe its the differential that let loose? any help on how to deal with this would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance

wow all I have to say is that really sucks. That's the first time I heard a problem with a shep tranny. Give him a call and see what he says? Post his response back up on here too so then I can decide whether to use him or not for my trans. Thanks.

Well just got off the phone with him and he said that it was either the front or the center differential that broke. He told me to send it back and he will take it down and see what exactly is wrong with it and go from there. Hopefully this turns out okay in the end
