Datalogger ? 1g OR 2g ?!

If I swap my 7-bolt out for a 6-bolt in my 2g, do I buy a 1g or 2g datalogger kit? -- im just a bit confused if it even has anything to do with the motor, or strickly just the harness, or both? if someone could explain it for my noob arse, id appreciate it. thanks in advance!

Just has to do with what ECU your using. 2G logger should be what your looking for.

You will still be using the 2G ECU so you will need a 2G datalogger.

Yep the OBD2 one is the one you need - think about it, would all these people do the swap if it turns the car into OBD1 (which is most likely illegal) ?

isnt it illegal to swap any motor thats older than yours into your car?

Yeah technically it's illegal, but as long as the DMV OBD-II scanner doesn't pick up anything funny, do you think those "techs" (sometimes you can't even call them that) would know? And on top of that, unless the tech really knows DSMs, they are the "same" engine (both say 4G63) so that's why with DSMs theres really nothing to worry about.
