i have a 92 eagle talon TSI and i was going to put it up for the winter and do some work on it. i was wanting to get a FMIC definately and i am going to get an air/fuel, and a boost guage with a manual boost controller so i can turn the boost up a little. i will probably only run like 13-14 lbs of boost max. (it may not seem fast probably, but when you come from driving a 1.8L eclipse for a year, the stock boost seems fast as hell.) If i do that shuold i get maybe a thicker headgasket or something or would I be alright. and what else would i have to do to make sure everything runs okay.

I believe stock boost is 14psi? I might be incorrect.. Anyway, if thats the case, you really dont need a fmic unless youre doing it for the looks.. im sure itll come in handy later though

Well that A/F gauge, although pretty, is completly useless. get an EGT or maybe oil pressure, or something else more useful.

The stock boost ona 1G is about 11#. You can easily go to 15 with a pretty stock car and have no problems. You wont need a frontmount for these leves on the stock turbo.

Check that out it gives the best way top make power with a turbo DSM.

if your gonna turn your boost up yeah get the A/F gauge if you have nothing else to monitor . it will let you know the "broad range" your air fuel mix is in so your not way to lean when you turn it up . it worked well for me untill i got something better to monitor. pick up a used or the cheapest new one as you wont be using it when you get a better device.

as for the FMIC it doesnt hurt to have one now.....
but you need other parts before it will be necessary to get one.
take a look at that staged upgrade path that they have on this site.

14-15psi max sounds good :thumb:
