I have a 97 gst and it has been ideling really low when i come up to a stop. It almost dies some times and other time it runs just fine. It just started doing this like a week ago right after it had been broken into and stole all my stereo equipment. I cleaned my throttle body and air filter and it helped some. Also there is a ticking noise coming from the sensor on the bottm side of the TB. I think it is the IAC sensor. It happens if i just turn the key to the acc position right befor i start it. Well any help would be great so thanx in advance.

i dont know, but your symptoms are alot like mine. car sounds like its misfiring, idles really low and wants to die sometimes. i reset the iac by turning the key on the on position but not starting the car, unplugging the sensor wire then plugging it back in. it idles at a constant 650-750 now so i can live with that. but i might just buy a new iac. also if i turn on the ac it wants to die, it drops to 300 rpm's. try resetting it and see what happens. also you can test it by taking a digital voltmeter and test the resistance between the 1-2, 2-3, 4-5, 5-6 prongs. they should read between 28-33ohms, mine were 31 so im stumped. btw when you take of the clip it looks like this......

and remember, youre testing the actual sensor, not the wiring. have fun. take out the battery too its a whole lot easier.
