all right i just up graded to a 20g turbo on my 98 gsx, and now that i have that done that, jump started the car cuz the car was sittin for 3 three weeks, and my windows dont go down, the battery light is on and it wants to stall, changed the battery to an optima, ran and started fine for like four days then started to do the same, then changed the alternator thinking that was the prablom but it wasent,i have to jump it all the time and after it runs for like ten min evrything is working, but when i drive it my tack starts jumping and my speedomiter stops working they were jumping when i put on my turning signal, anyone have an idea what is wrong....
anything will help thanx

Basic electrical troubleshooting, Check for shorts, frayed wiring brushing against the body, stuff like that. Especially in the area you last worked. Maybe you clipped a wire between something, who knows. Grab a miltimeter and measure the resistance between the + and - on the battery. If it's anything less then Really high, you might have a problem ;) I dont know what it should be, as there are things still using the battery when the car's off.... so it won't be infinate....

I dont think its a short becuase it does it repeatedly, and like when u start the car up it would take 10 minutes for the power features to start working, time after time, thats to much coinsidence

Well, you said you changed the alt already, with a new one? or a used one? I've gotten bad used parts before... so dont rule it out... But the only thing i can think of that would cause that is the ALT, the battery, or a short, or close-to-one.

If anyone else can think of anything, please post. But i've got nothing beyond that.

ok just put an optima red top, new remanifactured from advanced auto parts, and the only thing that was changed on the car was the turbo, nothing else, could it be the ecu?

I guess it *could* be the ECU, although i really dont see how... But it's only a 5 minute job to pull it and check.

The ECU could definately be the problem, since its controls the alt.check the smaller gauge wiring that goes to the alt.Put a voltmeter on the batt while the engine is running, and post the results

Popped fuses arent the problem. They're just an indicator. Something caused them to pop, and you should try and find out what that is.
