ok ive only tried to max my car out twice, the first time i reached about 140 believe and the second i was racing a 3rd gen eclipse gt and was pulling bad as he fell off and 115's and when i reached 135 this is what happend both times....
The car made a loud bang,(shakes) car stalls Not good at 140mph mind u.... and i had to let it sit there the first time for about 2 mins, the second i started as i was rolling stop and kept goin no signs of damage just the bang like a shotgun...LOL help.....
I know the tranny is goin and yesterday it fell on its last leg, luckely i got one on the way, so.... anyone have any ideas what it is!

Your car can't go any faster than that. Thats the ECU shutting down your car...probably by cutting the fuel. The only way you can take off the speed limiter is by the modification on vfaq.

But does it make a bang like that on every ones car at top speed? I hit 136 and had no problems. I cant see how shuting off the fuel would make it pop.

Then read about fuel cut. You asked a question and I gave you the answer.
