Ok, I have had a really bad cooling problem as of late and I need a few ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

What's already been done.
1. Thermostat replacement.

2. Coolant flushed twice with zerex superflush (the one you have to drive around 6 hours with). New coolant, redline water wetter, and corrosion prevention/ water pump lubricant added.

3. Radiator cap replaced.

4 Compression checked, 180,178,180,178

The only thing odd I noticed the whole time was that refilling the coolant last time, it only took 1 gal of antifreeze, the water wetter and the lubricant, after that it was full. So I figured I try to burp it, it overflowed and took no additional water. It was bubbling alot tho. My question is is it possible to blow a headgasket when you don't lose any coolant, burn any coolant, nothing is mixed, and your compression checks out fine? Or do I need to just add more water to the mix? The water pump is also working fine.

I would have to say maybe your radiator could be the problem. My friend was having issues with over heating. He replaced everything in the cooling system before he found out his year old Fluidyne was at fault. It looks like you have good compression so I don't think your head gasket is at fault.

Before you go out buying a radiator check Water pump and hoses

poured water through the radiator it checked out fine. I know I'm not leaking any coolant, it only lost coolant when the coolant would boil.

I took it to my uncle to help me out who is a mechanic. He thought head gasket, because we can see tiny bubbles bubbling up at idle when we let it sit, something is letting alot of air in. Put the car really isn't moving water like it should. I know are water pumps have plastic impellers, what are the chances of mine shearing off.

The last thing, yesterday to check for a blown headgasket, I hooked up my compression checker to my air compressor for a weak kind of leakdown test. I brought all thhe cylinders to tdc and then I would pressurize them with 125 psi. No bubbles came out. (thermostat currently removed, have to get a mitsubishi one because it does not look like this one is moving coolant.

So, I would like to know what everyone thinks, especially about the head gasket and water pump. I allready started breaking it down and need to jknow which to focus on. It could be either as this thread is similar to my problem even tho its a 1g
