ok so i posted a thread before about how my dome and trunk lights mysteriously went oout while i was following a wire and got replies that it was probly a blown fuse. Well i just got my car back from the shop(painting bumper to match) and none of my interior lights work now...my headlights do but my parking lights dont. Everything inside is out, my gauges, the hvac, everything. BTW i checked all the fuses and none are blown.
 
did u check fuse under the hood and inside car ? also did you chcek the blubs themselves maybe the short blew them out.
 
You have to pull them out and actually test them which means measuring the continuity (complete circuit) across them with an ohmeter [or some other clever method like with a small light bulb (or voltmeter) to power, etc].
 
By using a multimeter you can find a blown fuse where you don't necessarily have to remove each one. For the flat bladed type fuses there are 2 contacts on the top of each. Turn the ignition on (to energize more circuits) and with the multimeter set to read voltage and at least 12 volts, measure the voltage across each fuse. If any have any voltage at all, they are blown (since a fuse is supposed to be a short circuit). If no voltage, measure each fuse contact to ground. If there is the exact same non-zero voltage on each contact, that fuse is good. If both contacts read zero volts to ground, that fuse may be good or bad and you will have to remove it and check it's resistance (or continuity) separately.
