Alright guys, i'm looking for your wisdom. I bought a 90 gsx, early build date so it nees the early ecu, and it needed motor/tranny, of which I had. I put it all together, checked all the wiring. Go to fire it up, and no spark. I replaced the module, nothing, coil pack, nothing, the CAS was never pulled off the motor so I haven't checked it. Is there something I should be following, like a troubleshooting tree or something because right now i'm lost. I'm not sure what to be doing so is there a place on here or vfaq that kinda has a general wiring diagram I can follow or something. I need some help as I hate having this thing put together with a stupid wiring fault holding me back.

I kept searching for an answer after talking to you earlier. Some other guy here got a complete engine harness schematic for his car at Firestone. He just asked for a printout for his 90 awd talon. They used mitchell on demand software. Perhaps even the dealership can provide you with the schematic.

Hopefully, when you take off the CAS, you would have marked its position. I forgot to mention that to you. Otherwise, you'll get to play with your timing light. At this point, my only guess is the CAS. You replaced the coil, ignition module, ECU, and the CAS is plugged in. The coil is getting power but it isn't switching. The injectors, as far as I could remember, weren't firing. At least I didn't hear it. That sounds like the CAS. I know this is frustrating, but don't give up. We'll get this figured out.

Anyone else, wisemen, electrical gurus, care to give your input?

Check your fuses that are on the positive battery post, if one of those is blown it will keep the car from firing, I believe it is the MPI but can't quite remember, just check them all. Later, Keith.

Checked all the fuses, a dozen and a half times. I've been burned before checking everything and it turns out to be a darn fuse. Just to be sure, there's three places for furses, in front of the battery, pass side fenderwell, on the battery cable, and the one in the kick panel in the drivers compartment? Am I missing somewhere?

Unless it is a bad ground somewhere I would look at the coil to make sure you got the right one for that ECU, just a thought. Later, Keith.

Will the CAS just go bad like that? I mean, we pulled the motor out of the car last march and since then it has just rested on an engine stand. Does anyone have a wiring schematic for the ECU or is there any service manual I can buy that will have it? I just want something physical to look at to be able to completely run through the wiring.

Alright guys, I have to thank everyone for their support from sending me modules to the wiring diagrams. I sat down last night to test the CAS and sure enough it didn't output any signals. So I checked the wiring and I feel like a moron, LOL. It turned out the cas was plugged directly to the tps and their mating connections were hooked together. Darn the matching colors and matching genders. Kinda odd that the CAS was female and tps was male and their mating plugs were right next to each other on the firewall. Only way to tell they were bad was to pull the sheathing back and notice the color on the wires didn't match. I feel like an idiot, but relieved that it is finally running. Thanks again for all your help.
