I picked up a new altrenator yesterday to replace mine (had been arching, went bad. My car is a 1990 Tsi AWD, and the altrantor came from a 1990 Non turbo eclipse. The bolt where u attach the wiring harness is a different size i discoverd once i set the new one in. So it makes me curious as to if this new alternator is even the same. It looked the same.. I could just use some differnt nuts and the harness will attach fine.

it should be the same my altanator shit the bead so i baught a new one from a twin cam gallant its a direct bolt on and there non turbo and it works just fin wait. unless it was a vr4 gallant humm .. well i dont know but it wasnt my altanator that shit the bed when i was taking my balence shafts out i didnt disconnect the battery and i blew the fuse for the altanator when i took it out so if ya need one i got the one from my gst email me [email protected] 30 bucks u can have it

I had my Bumper to Bumper guy look up the Highest Amp Mitsu Alternator that would fit a 1G:

- Max amperage 121 amps

- 100 amps at 3000rpm

- Max 1548 watts

- Manufacturer Ampere - Ampere P/N 21491

- Cost was about $150.00

- I run a 1 Farad Cap too with an El-Cheapo Battery that pushes a 500 Watt Sony Amp & head Unit no problems - no dimming, etc.

I put it on Car Ramps & come from underneath so no need to remove Fan - It's still a PITA...

Make sure you have NO Power Steering Fluid leaks dripping on your Alt - that will kill the Voltage Regulator in a Heartbeat & can toast your ECU...
