This is at almost all temps, except for when the car is warm. Its really really hard to start. If you just hold the starter over and try to start it that way it won't start. If you bump it a couple turns, pump the gas, bump it a couple turns, give it some gas, eventually it starts.

I had a problem with my first walbro 255, so I installed another one. When you turn the ignition on, before you bump the starter should you hear the fuel pump whining?

I know it can be only two things, fuel or spark. I put new NGK wires, and plugs in, gapped the plugs to .028.

Once the car starts idle kicks up and the car runs great...
The longer the car sits the harder it is to start.

Thanks for any help guys

might be your fuel pressure solenoid. That is what gets the fuel going on start up. I have it removed and my car has to turn over a bit prior to it starting cuz i guess the pump is on it's own.

I'm on a race set up on my vaccum lines though and i have my car completely stripped of anything and everything to take off weight.

I have a CEL, but its intermitant, and I think it has alot to do with my tuning. The cel code is P0170 fuel management malfunction, Bank 1. Its off right now, and been off all day...but will probably come on tomorrow when the dsm ghost gets back in the car. I think he is like private malone, but hinders not helps....

Where is the fuel pressure cylinoid located?
Does anyone's fuel pump whine before the car is started? Mine doesn't and was just wondering if maybe I am not getting fuel delivery tell the car is started. As I said I have to GIVE it lots of gas to get it started.

As I said this one is real weird, the car runs good once its started, but its just hard to get it started.

Thanks for the help

as for the whine....no DSMs do not prime the fuel system prior to turning the engine over. This would be unnecessary as we use a recirculated fuel system (all you would do is move the fuel around :p )

does anyone know if the fuel pressure regulator is the same in a 97 gsx and a 1st gen turbo>?
