tranny shifting problem

my buddy owns a 91 awd talon auto and it shifts hard into 2nd gear. what could be the problem

It's a DSM.

Pennzoil Synchromesh may help some. It may help a lot, but not likely.

My friend had the same problem, it continually got worse until he decided to do a tranny flush. Low and behold the fluid that came out was a metallic silver!!! Needless to say he is now in the market for a new tranny with some stronger 2nd gear syncros... :thumbdown uh..also Penzoil Synchromesh won't work in an automatic...
