PLEASE help transmission question

Hey guy i installed the new trans in my 92 fwd talon 5 speed turbo talon. everything went fine except the driver side axle shaft that goes into the trans doesnt fit. it goes in but turns and clunks without moving the trans. the trans is out of a 91 eclipse. did they use a larger driver side axel shaft in 93??? it boggles me because i got it all together then i run into this! PLEASE HELP I AM LOST! The only thing i can think of is to get a different axle shaft.

It really should fit. Are you sure u made the axle snap in there nice and tightly? The input shafts should be the same throughout 90-94. I have a 92 tranny in my 93 fwd 5spd and i'm using 93' axles with the 92 tranny.

I have a 92 trans in my car(90) and it works fine. It should go in, unless the front diff is bad and crushed or broke, and it won't let the axle slide in. Other than it, it should go in.

Sometimes its just a pain in the ass. I dont think you have the axle in all the way, sometimes, you need to pull it out, turn it over a couple teeth and push it back in. It takes effort, especially the drivers side. Just try and push a litlte harder. If your hearing it clunk, typically its just not in all the way. Good luck!

No it slides in all the way and snaps in but when i turn it, it doesnt engage the teeth in sid eof the trans. the trans has teeth though and so does th imput shaft. the passenger side snapped in and i had no problem its fine in the trans. the driver side looks like the imput shaft is too small and the trans is too big. Do you think if i turned it it would work? i dont know whats going on with it. thanks

i was right, they werent the same size, raxles helped me out and made axles for me
