Is there an easy way to get rid of that annoying ticking noise I hear when idling. It's gotten pretty loud and makes my car sound like a hooptie.

Take the lifters out and clean them and it should fix it for a while. I would suggest doing this durring an oil change or right afterwards.

instead of explaining what they are ...heres a pic of yours (on the right) and the ones u need (on the left). they tick because the oil passage on the stock ones are EXTREMELY small compared to the revised ones , or 3rd gen ones.they get clogged and limit the lubrication abilities, causing the lifters to tick when the roller rocker arms hit the top of them.

Is this a simple fix?
I looked at the vfaq article, http://www.vfaq.com/mods/lifters.html, and it doesn't seem to hard.
I have to replace my valve cover gasket soon, so I thought I might as well replace those as well (since they tick a little bit).

no its not. i pulled a macgyver and tied my cam gears up so it never left tention off the belt and took the cams out. but all u have to do to make it easier on yourself is take a screwdriver and pop out the roller rockers and just replace the lifters. i reccomend loosening the cam cap bolts to let some tension off everything so its not as ahrd. remember to torque the cam cap bolts down to 15 ft/lb when done. :thumb:

Thanks for the tip.

How about some places to get these? I saw that SBR has them for $150 a set. Anywhere else?

well here is the trick we use and it works awesome!

new lifters if really needed but a can of BG 44k oil treatment cleans your engine of deposits and man oh man i did it to my own 2g and to customers and not one has come back yet. works great and the 44k is the best 10 bucks you'll ever spend on your car.

good luck

Sweet, man.. Thanks. Does it say just BG on the label?

also, on their site, they have 44k as a featured product.. but they say to add it to the gas... is the fuel shit you were talkin about also called 44k? or have you made a few boo-boo's :p :D
