at idle i can hear that my car is misfiring, so i changed the plugs and wires , but still the same problem , if not worse some times and now its affecting my driving , its just doesnt seem to have the power it used to , and im running low on cash and this problem is really starting to piss me off , at idle i pulled the wires , big change for #1 barely any change for #2 a slight change for #3 and another big change in idle for #4, if any one could help me please..
 
do u really have priceless mods? it could be ur problem. trust me, been there, done that. and if ur car is misfiring, i think the check engine light would on, is it? some priceless mods aren't worth it. seeing that these mods increase bosst a little, u might b losin power due to the increased PSI b/c of the stock BOV. i've done it b4. on some cars, the honeycomb mod idles all good, but on some cars, the honeycomb mod idles like shit. i hope this helps somewhat.
 
mods such as boost restrictor and cut out dump tube thats it, and no check engine light , but i kno for a fact its misfiring and now i just replaced the coil packs and still same problem and is there a way to tell if the if the car would run good if the honey comb was removed or just trial and error and if so what does that do
 
Do you mean the dump tube for the BOV?? So now the BOV is venting?? Your running too rich in that case, put that tube back on and you should be fine.
 
no....i think he means the dump tube inside the intake pipe. did u check if the wires r plugged right? sorry, can't help u much...
 
Why are you even freaking out? Does your car drive normal? Are you having hesitation at partial throttle and/or WOT?

If it drives normal, and you have no hesitation/misfiring at partial throttle or WOT, then stop freaking out and leave it at that.
 
ok, im not freaking out , its just pissing me off that i cant find the problem , and im sure it would piss you off too , and yes the dump tube for the bov and i do have hesitation on accelleration and some times a WOT, but what does the honey comb do if its removed
 
Ok johnny boy, let me tell you this. I read earlier that you changed your plugs and wires, double check to see if you got the correct wires (make sure they're for 2.0L turbo), and make sure your plugs are gapped correctly. Also, what kinda plugs are you using? I wouldn't use anything other than the NGK's.

If that's not it, then you must have a boost leak. You can retighten your hose clamps all you want, but you cannot see a leak. Do a leak test.

Before I did my fmic and turbo install the car would hesitate at partial throttle, and that was because I had a boost leak.

Misfiring during idle is somewhat normal, occasionally it would give you a pop here n there. But hesitation during acceleration is not, so try those two things i mentioned.

Oh yea, do NOT remove the honey combs on the 2g mas. They're there to smooth out the airflow going in. If you take them out I believe the car will run rich and idle/drive like crap. It's not all that restrictive IMO so why bother.
 
im having the same problem with my non turbo, seems to be misfiring at idle, then when im in gear cruisin it seems to hesitate/misfire at partial throttle, and doesnt seem to get up and go as fast(not that its really fast, its a nonturbo:laugh: ) but its confusing me and i have no idea whats wrong with it, i have new ngk plugs, gapped correctly, thundersport wires, somebody help me to?
 
yes i have ngk plugs , brand new wires and coil packs, no boost leaks cuz i already checked cuz it only seems to take common sence , and i put this post up to see if any one happened to have the same problem and what they have done about , not to be ragged on by you and i wasnt planning on removing the honey comb , only just to see what it does , if u have read my last post , ok

You presented a problem, I told you possible solutions to fix it, you asked a question about the honey combs, I told you the answer.

I think that's called "trying to help you" buddy :rolleyes:
 
my car misfires all the time at idle, but accelerates fine. i've gotten to where i ignore the misfiring during idle but normally hesitation during accel is something other than ignition system. i'd be willing to bet the car has issues elsewhere. if you don't get the problem fixed shoot me an email and i'll walk you through some trouble shooting over the phone if you'd like
 
ok , still missfiring , stock eclpise gst runs what 15.1 on the Q i ran the car for the first time this weekend to see if there was any difference , my car ran a 15.9 , how bad is that , and i put the dump tube back and reset the ecu , slight change but not much , what else could be the problem?
