need help trying to fit a apexi gt intercooler on a 2g

has anyone tried to install a apexi gt hybrid front mount intercooler on a 97-99 eclipse. i received the instructions and let me say my cat could draw a better diagram. well anyways i have most of it mounted but the front bumper support is in the way. the upper pipe doesn't allow the support to go in on the passenger side. Ive cut about 80 percent of the support up and it to me looks like theres no need for it now since its paper thin. Are people just removing the bumper support and leaving the bumper cover on. is there something im doing wrong here or is it really this much of a pain in the ars. also the bumper cover seems to hit the piping so it bulges on the side. any suggestions. if any one has some pics of their install with the bumper cover off that would be great. any help here would be awesome since my car is just sitting in the garage right now.

I think a lot of people end up removing that support when they install huge front mounts. It's really left up to you, because you're losing that barrier if you're ever in a collision.

I myself had to remove the support.

Sorry, the only picture I have is just the front end with the support off. I don't know why the hell I didn't take a pic with the ic on before I put the bumper back on. WTF

Also, I'm not sure of the similarities between the GT and 24R, but with mine, I had to trim the bumper so it could fit.
