phoenix,
I Have Sort of a complicated problem, any help at all would be so appreciated. Here goes: I replaced the clutch in my 91 n/t about a month and a half ago with a clutch comparable to an act 2100, sorry i cant remember brand name right now., I had no problems at all, smooth shifting until a couple of days ago. Out of now where my third gear started grinding everytime i would put it into gear not a grind like, putting it in gear with no clutch. No this was a weird grinding sound, It got worse until yesterday, I was making a shift out of third into fourth and it wouldnt go. Now i can not get anything to go into gear. It feels like i have no clutch, the pedal is there. The tranny feels smooth with the car off. I tried a few things of course i checked fluids in clutch reservoir and tranny. I also checked the slave cylinder no problems, there are no leaks of any sort. Very strange. Today i was able to start it while in first but i can hear a noise fromt the tranny casing that sounds like a bike chain coming off its sprocket. I know i will have to take everything apart again but i have no clue what to look for or what could be wrong.
Thanks for any help whatsoever.:talon:

when the car is on and in neutral can u hear the sound? if you push the clutch in (but leave it in neutral) does it make a noise? if so, it could be your t/o bearing.....mine was so bad, it was stuck onto the output shaft of my tranny.....other than that i would say it sounds like a syncro problem....

sounds like one of your synchros are letting go and messing up your throw out bearing same thing happened to me. bad news is its prob new tranny time.. good luck

Yeah i was hoping i wouldnt have to replace tranny, it seems like everytime i get ready to do some mod or something cool the car takes a big crap on me, oh well the beauty of DSM ownership!
Anyway it does make the noise in neutral but only with the clutch in and only sometimes. i was actually able to drive it up about 6 houses from mine and back 1st gear through third and reverse. It started messing up again after that. Well thanks for the help everyone.:talon:
