I just bought my 95 GS-T about a week ago and after having it a couple of days I have noticed that it is making a ticking/squeeling noise. It use to not do it that much but now it is louder and does more often. The only time it does it is when the turbo builds boost, that is when it is the loudest. If you rev the engine while it is sitting still you can kind of here it, it almost sounds like a lifter ticking while the engine is reving, but I know its not a lifter because it is coming from around the turbo area and my lifter ticking is louder than the turbo ticking noise. When you first get in the car and start to drive it will make the ticking/squeeling sound really loud even if you are barely giving the car gas, if the turbo builds boost at all it will make the sound. After driving for about 10-15 minutes it will go away, and all you can here is the turbos natural spooling sound. The car drives fine and pulls hard while under boost it doesnt jerk or anything like it would if the boost was fluctuating. Is it my turbo, or something else. If it was my turbo going bad wouldnt it do it all the time. Someone please help. I have searched here and DSMTALK.com and I cant find anything about it.

I have had the same thing in my car. The squeeling and then it goes away after the car was warmed up. I think it is actually your exhaust gasket that is up again the block. It splits after time and will have to expand with heat before it does its job. I was going to get my fixed but the exhaust place was going to charge 60. so i said no, i can live with it for now. Turbo is probably fine take your intake piping and check for shaft play. Thats what i did and mine was none at all. Hope that helps!!

Tighten your exhaust manifold, mine was doing the exact same thing and a friend of mine pointed out it was a leak on one of the runners. Sure enough, I tightened the manifold and no more squeaking, just more lifter ticking :D

Thanks a lot guys. I have already checked it for shaft play and it has none, but I will check the manifold and stuff for leaks today. I will let yall know if it fixes the problem or not. Thanks again.

OK, I found out that it was an exhaust leak. It was coming from yhe edge of the manifold on the drivers side. So I pulled all of the heatshields of and pulled the plate out that is connected to the manifold and the power steering bracket. When I tried to pull the nut off of the stud closer to the passenger side the whole stud unscrewed and came out of the head. Then when I went to take the other nutt off on the drivers side (where the leak is) I noticed that the nutt and stud was really loose. After taking the plate off and determining exactly where the leak was I decided I would buy a gasket tomorrow. When I put the nut back on the stud on the drvers side I put it on as tight as I could with my fingers then I grabbed the wrench and barely turned it maybe a half a turn. Then something terrible happened. The F*CKING STUD sheared off in the damn head. So now I have to get the stud out buy three new ones and a gasket. Hey, at least there is nothing wrong with my turbo, thank GOD.

Good luck with that. I think that is why the exhaust shop was going to charge so much to change the gasket because it is such a b*tch. Let me know how it goes though. I have my gasket i just dont want to break anything while installing it.
