im havin an odd f*kin problem wit the clipse, the CEL comes on when i hit a bump an the car jerks once violently like it may be losing fuel, then the light goes off and the car runs fine, ne ideas? i have none, i check the maf connection an its fine, i swear to god the second i put any car up for sale something comes up, first the egr solenoid now this:cry:  any ways any ideas would be of great help thanks:thumb:

If the check engine light comes on it will store a code in the computer. This code will stay there regardless whether the light stays on or not. Go to autozone and have the codes retrieved regardless if the light is on or not. Then come back and give us the codes.

On my car the cable that runs from the positive battery cable to the fuse box was loose and it caused an intermittent christmas tree condition. Where the whole dash would light up that car would die and start back up. The only reason this was happend was because it was the same thing as cutting the power to all of the components that get power from that box. It's like turning the key on but not starting the car. I say to also check the connections although your problem is slightly different from mine because you are only getting a cel. I got a whole dash. Good luck.

thanks ppl, how much is it to get the Cel codes at autozone? and i have heard that with obdII cars they rnt accurate at autozone?? is that true

If it's a 95 DSM, turbo or non, it can be hooked up to a generic code reader for any OBDII scan tool. If you take it to autozone they don't charge (at least everyone that says they went, never got charged). Just get a Failure code that starts with a "P" and is has four numbers following it.

I work at autozone. We use an actron obdII code scanner. A scanner is a scanner. You will get the same readings from a $4,000.00 snap-on scanner as you will a 150.00 actron. If the scanner reads two codes we usually don't even tell the customer about the second code because that code can be false and by fixing whatever caused the first cel usually fixes the second. See all we do at autozone is tell you what the code is and it's up to you to fix it. If you lived around me I would do it! :thumb:

I can't vouch for the reliability of the autozone scanner so I can't argue that point.

However, with multiple codes, there's no telling which one caused which until you start diagnosing them. You could have three injector circuit failure codes, an ASD relay output fault code, and a coil driver fault code. If you didn't know any better you'd start tracing wires or swapping out injectors. However, knowing that all three areas of failure deal with the Battery positive supply from the ASD relay output you might actually find that the injector noise suppressor wire was not only disconnected from the suppressor but it was crushed under a coolant bracket and shorted to the cylinder head.

I know it's a far stretch but I just had the same problem just two weeks ago with a motor swap and turbo install done by another repair shop. They couldn't figure it out so they brought it to me and I did.
Just food for thought.
