I have a 93 talon 2.0 it started leaking antifreeze a while ago but never overheating the leaks always under the timing belt/waterpump area but i cant see if its the waterpump itself. the main question i have is can the headgasket leak just pure anti freeze out like a leak, its not foaming when i add antifreez its not makin the oil milkyish no major signs of a head gasket but what do you guys think.

More than likely it's your water pump. Swap out your timing belts when you replace it, just for good measure. ;)

sorry to bring this thread back from nowhere. but i searched and i have this same problem. i just installed the new water pump and timing belt head gasket and now when i filled up the fluids i have antifreez dripping slowly from the timing belt side. iam not sure if its the water pump i would hope not.. i sealed it i might have to take it off and reseal it..?

I would say its probably the gasket on the water pump. If it wasn't absolutely spotless when you put the new pump on, it could be prone to leaking. If its leaking from the pump, you'll probably have to take it off and re-seal it with a new gasket. It also could be the hose connecting to the water pump, if you're lucky.

One common source of a water pump leak is the o-ring not installed properly. You must replace the o-ring in the crossover inlet pipe by putting it on the pipe end first, coating with coolant, and then insert pipe with o-ring into water pump – do not put the o-ring into water pump first as it will not seat properly and will leak.

It looks like my sons' 96 Turbo Talon has the O-ring leaking. The timing belt/waterpump was just replaced about a month ago. Can this crossover inlet pipe be removed without taking the exhaust manifold off? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
