There is a hissing noise comming from the drivers side dash. Tried boost gauge not that i ran it with it not hooked up and still does it. Any ideas? It starts to happen at about 5psi and up. And the hiss gets louder as the psi goes up.

Power Brake Vacuum Booster Line Check Valve bad - It's hidden inside the Line (feel the lump). You may be able to replace it by splicing in a fast acting In-Line Check Valve rather than a new assembly from Mitsu.

This is a message from "MitchTSIAWD", a member of DSMtuners.com:

thanks for the info. But could you be more specific. do you know where it is located and is this the definate problem or a possible fix.

Power BRAKE Vacuum Booster Line Check Valve IS BAD - It's hidden inside the BLACK HOSE THAT RUNS FROM THE BACK OF THE INTAKE TO THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER (feel the LUMP).

You may be able to replace it by splicing in a fast acting In-Line Check Valve (PCV TYPE VALVE) rather than an entire new assembly from Mitsu (THE LINE COMES WITH THE CHECK VALVE).

AND YES! IT FIXED THE NOISE UNDER MY DRIVER'S SIDE DASH - NOW GET YOUR LAZY ASS OUT THERE & FIX IT - IS THAT SPECIFIC ENUFF FOR YOU?

mitch: Well that is definitely the problem because I ended up replacing the line with just a regular vacuum line. This isn't going to cause more

Buck: That's how I found this out... It's blowing into the Booster - what if you blew the Brake Booster Diaphragm? ANSWER = No BRAKES
- (I tried it) - THAT'S a problem... I'm dead sure - mine would kinda pop at 10 psi - It was kinda cool really - But still a Boost leak - other guys have had it just go like yours - it's kind of a new failure. As I said you can cut the line remove the old one & splice in a new - but it's gotta be quick - little check valve. I just CAREFULLY pushed the old one out of my old brittle hose & CAREFULLY slid it in the new hose with some silicon lube.

I'll post this exchange as info for others...
