I searched all over this site and found pretty much nothing.
Here is the problem: I have a 90 Eclipse GSX I pulled the motor to port my exhaust ports a little to match the gasket more and the change the clutch. now I have it back together and it wont start.
I thought it was the starter because the starter just clicked and nothing happens (motor doesnt even turn over) timming belt is fin also. I have a new battery and connectors for it. I pulled out the starter and had it tested it worked fine. put it back in and nothing. pulled off again hooked up the cables turned on the car and it worked off of the car.
Also when I try to start the motor with it on my battery cables heat up and the 30A fuse on the pos+ cable burns or pops. also to make sure I didnt do something wrong where does the slide connector on the starter harness (the fat 2 prong one) connect to? The little wire on the silanoid is on good too. need help fast got to have transportation.
 
Sounds like something is jamming, thats why it keeps heating up the wire and blowing the fuse.
Did you take the head off?
So you did a complete rebuild top and bottom?

I would get in there and double check your TB install ASAP.
 
Can you turn the crank manually? if not take out the spark plugs turn the crank manually, put the plugs back and try it again, mine did that when my motor siezed, and I tried to start it. Not sure if that's your case but just an idea.
 
here is an update. I went insane from this problem and went out and bought a push button for the starter and rewired my starter through the switch to the batter (I also installed a toggle to cut power for button happy passengers).

this what is going on:

turn the key to on(were it is when driving right before start)
flip toggle so my push button has power
push button and all lights turn off on dash as well as my turbo timer.

here is what it sounds like:

now the starter makes the sound like it is extending the sproket onto the flywheel but not turning.
THE MOTOR STILL DOESNT TURN!

I am going to go bald from stress and insanity from this problem and I am only 21. Somebody help me before I lose it completely.
