problem with 1g intake

i put in an after market air filter directly to the stock tube going to turbo i noticed a sensor on the stock air filter cover but didnt think much of it now my check engine light is on n the boost gauge wont work what should i do about the sensor or really what can i do if i dont want stock air filter box on n what to do about the sensor thank you

That sensor is your MAS you kinda need it for your car to run right.

SO HOW WOULD I GO ABOUT PUTTING IN ANYTHING AFTER MARKET WHEN THE SENSOR IS IN THE AIR FILTER HOUSEING

first start by keeping the CAPS off!!! buy a whole new intake for it, nut just a filter..perhaps injen!

Well, this is all first-grade DSM stuff, but:

1) You can cut the airbox off around the filter, leaving the sensor attached (you _need_ that).

2) You can put on an aftermarket filter, and an aftermarket pipe from the sensor to the turbo.

3) You can buy something like a GM-MAF Translator, and get rid of the stock airflow sensor, and replace it with a GM one somewhere else (but I'm willing to bet you'd have problems doing that, he he he)
