So im driving my car back from karaoke, and as soon as i pull my car on to the road i feel a small weird sputter while im in 1st. I give her a lil gas and shes fine. Then i get to a light and as soon as i get into first and start to take off the car sputters like its gonna die, so i gas her a lil bit and it seems fine. But as soon as i get to second the same thing happens so i gas her again and shes fine, and then the same thing happens in third. I gas her one more time to go to fourth and my fourth gear wasn't haveing it and sputtered even when i tried to accelerate. About 2miles away from my house the Check Engine Light comes on. Can anyone help me out with this? My car is pretty much stock except for a couple free mods.

same problem for me! im gettin it check at tomorro so if its a hefty cost ill let u know..if its too much i mite have to drop the dsm :(..

Check over your ignition system. Check your spark plugs to be sure they aren't fouled. Also, check your spark pack, and be sure your wires are on tight and well insulated.

I had the same problem. Except mine only happened about once every 10 miles. It would usually start off with just a few missed fires and then it would lose a lot of power, but giving it a lot of gas did seem to bring it out of it. I ran injector cleaner through my car and it hasn't done it as much, but isn't totally fixed.

Just got my car back, and the reason why the CEL came on was do to a misfire in the first cylinder. So the plugs were changed and the CEL turned off and everything seemed aight. Started driving her home and shes fine until i tried to merge onto the freeway. Looks like the problem was only semi-fixed. She still sputters like a savage when i floor it or accelerate a little more than normal.

Anyone now a good shop in San Jose that i can get this chekced out at? Or a shop that knows there way around a dsm?
