Backfiring or Misfiring or What?

[92 AWD ECLIPSE]

My 92 Eclipse GSX seems to be backfiring or misfiring at high rpms in 2nd and 3rd gear right as the torque is becoming strong. I am not sure if it has something to do with the ignition components or a vaccumm leak. Any help would be great. Thanks.

check spark plug wires, spark plugs and for any loose vacuum lines.

i would agree with eric's_gsx, i had a problem like that and it was the spark plugs
