wheres it leaking from you think? sounds like it is right around the shield covering the turbo area.... when i rev the engine by hand under the hood its so loud.. so i know there is a leak somewhere.. i know they are somewhat loud cars anyways but this is definately a leak or crack somewhere.. not ticking, so not exhaust manifold or anything... i'm thinking maybe downpipe? cracked headerS? i doubt? i have no idea any ideas?

i've got a nasty exhuast leak... i cant even tell if anything is coming out of the muffler at all, is it possible, that when i get into high revs and i think my car is burning off oil on the heat shields cus i had an oil leak awhile back, it could be my exhaust just coming outta something near the engine? maybe open downpipe or even higher is not even connected anymore or something, the shop just did a new clutch.. think they might left something loose on the exhuast? i cant get under the car right now due to it being -20 and just getting a foot of snow yesterday.. let me know

If its that cold out it should be easier to find the leak!:D

Pull off the heat sheilds and start the car up. It should be quite apparent where the leak is coming from if its as big as you decribe. Check the turbo to exhuast manifold gasket, turbo to O2 sensor housing gasket, and dp gasket as mentioned.

I guess this is one advantage to the cold weather, makes an exhuast leak really easy to find!:thumb:

if you have a stock exhust its more then lickly the flex pipe i have seen it many times right under your oil pan. but try it when its cold like someone said above if it is the flex pipe and you dont have emissions in your state get a custom exhust turbo back or rap the flex pipe in heat tape (<temporary fix)

got the car checked out at the mechanic today... apparently... the front pipe wasnt even connected? the bolts were all missing and he didnt know where they were.. so thats why it was so loud, because the exhuast wasnt even on, then he connected that up and it was still leaking from the flexpipe.. so 195 bux for a new flex pipe tomorrow and i'm good to go again...
