Alright so a few days ago I was installing some cams on my 95.I got them all in and I was stupid I left the belt on the gears and I ended up breaking my cas because its behind the intake cam gear.So 3 days later nappa got me the 90.00 sensor. So I got the new sensor on and this time I took off the t belt and put the gear on.Well I go to start the car and noting happens.I have my timing wrong.I have tried to get it now 5 times using a wire type rod and rotating the motor until no.1 is at tdc but its not working for me.I'm finally just tired of messing with it.I dont feel like taking a bunch more crap off to set the oil pump and crank mark.I called a local shop and they told me they are not interested.I need this done asap it my dd.If anyone wants to do this for me I'll pay you I need my car.thank you

if your timing was off and u tried starting it you very well bent some valves and head rebuilt is in order.

You know that you can accidentally put the CAS 180* out and your car prob won't start b/c your ignition timing will be way off.

Do the cam timing marks not line up? You can look at the crank pulley timing marks to verify if the crank is at TDC when the cams line up. I believe the cams and crank line up every 2 complete revolutions. You don't have to go by the crank sprocket itself.

You car should start if the oil pump is out of phase, but your bs will be out of whack causing vibration. All the timing marks (including oil pump) line up every 6 revolutions.

get ahold of me... I'm sure you know how, I'm pretty sure I can come take a look at it see where you went wrong. ...

Pretty sure I cant put the cas on 180 out. It's a 95-96 they dont have the same kind of cas as the rest.It is behind the intake cam gear but thank you.It was at tdc when I put it on I thought and the cam marks lined up.Thanks for your help.

Yeah I was hoping you wanted to do this because you are pretty close to where I live.I know what I need to do I think I need to take off the lower timing cover and line up all those marks but its something I dont want to mess with.I have this saturday off ,if its not a 1000degrees maybe we can do something. If you want to pm me and give me your number and how much you think you want to fix it I think we can work something out. Thanks a lot.Later

I didn't know any year 2g had a CAS in the head :hmm: so I assumed you had done a 6bolt swap. Good luck man. I hope you figure it out soon and get your car back on the road.

No swap I'm talking about the cam position sensor. On the 95-96 the sensor is by the intake cam gear, kind of under it its a bullshit spot if you ask me.I think mitsu figured out it sucked to.90-94 good 97-99 good 95-96 suckkkk. All of you guys have the cas in a easy spot,LOL.Thanks though

AHHHH.Son of a bi*** My1gdsm came and did my timing belt and what not.We turned it over to check the compression and I was thinking hell yeah its going to be good......pretty much 25psi across the board.Damnit son of a bi*** car. This is horrible I'm broke as hell and now this!If anyone around has a good 2g head or knows anyone who does please let me know thank you.

yup i knew it....take off the head and look at the extent of the damage..i would have a competent machine shop rebuild it put some nice valves, springs ect..live and learn!! seen this so many times! LOL

Sorry man! I did my first DOHC 4G63 timing belt according to the manual. I was careful, and was sweating bullets when I first turned it over... but it was okay!

I bought a rebuilt head anyway for 150

Well if I could find a head for that cheap I would be on it.I wasnt doing a timing belt job I was doing cams so I didnt take of the lower cover I just marked the belt and gears but the marks wore off.I just decided hell I need to do a timing belt in 10,000 mile why not do it now.I assumed it would be okay but we left it all apart and did a compression test and got around 25psi.Hell I'll just put it together and run 165psi of boost.LOL
