Anyone have a logical price quote for a shop to put a new flexplate on(95 tsi awd)? its stripped :-( , I would love to do it myself , but i dont have the facilities , Comon wise men , help me out here :) - Dale

are we talk 7bolt or 6bolt? I'm guess 7bolt cuz 6bolt A/T w/ 2g tranny is like the only combo that doesn't work...well it does sort of but it breaks all the time and costs $$$. I was almost about to save up for a 6bolt until I found that out. heh. Ah damn went off-topic again. Anyway just bring it to a tranny shop and a get a quote easiest way.

phalanx: yes the kid i bought it from said it was a 6 bolt swap...from what i hear this doesent work for more than 20k miles......apearantly

and i quote

"The problem is not the flexplate in this swap its the end off the torque conveter that goes into the crank that different. The end of the 2g crank has a deeper hole to compencate for the larger torque converter."

Hence the ende of the flexplate hangs on for dear life for a while then gives up.. thaks everyone for your help... if anyone in NJ feels up to fixing this eply with a quote!... i cant get my car that high off the gorund! (withought a hand grenade and trust me its crossed my mind)

yeah 20k driving nornally, but only for about a dozen or so launches. Anyway machining the end to the torque converter is a must. The plate you need is
Plate - MD735674 also you need a this pilot bushing - MD011848...I know the bushing needs to be modified somehow....dont know specifics.
