I found another DSM, mainly Eagle, forum last night but I can't remember the address? It had the same set up as this but it had a street racing section. Anyone know what I'm talking about? or the address? I want to say talon.com or eagletalon.com.

dsmtalk.com
dsmstyle.com...

but honestly, as a member of this one and the other two, I'd stay here. There are a ton of knowledgeable people on this board and they are very willing to help, and won't flame your @ss for asking a dumb question.

What about your local DSM club...no web site??

We are the best out there. Stick with us and ask away if you need some advice, be it cars, relationships, or life in general. We cater to it all here at DSMTUNERS.COM:D

Agreed. I love this site, and trust me, it's not for the "knowledge base" (if it could be called that).

This will be my 1st source, but I am looking for as much info as possible. When I get into a hobby, I REALLY get into a hobby. I forgot how much I miss having a quick/fast car. I'm just at a loss for power right now,(from a 400hp 68 Camero).

Why do you two spend so much time talking down on this site? I've seen helpful posts from you, but plenty of insults on the users at the same time. Please do post your suggestions on how we can improve the "knowledge base" that you find so humorous. With posts like this, I begin to take offense, as I'm the one doing all the work trying to make this a place where people can receive help, not insults.

This is the Newbie forum. This is where people can ask questions that are somewhat repetitive or common and not receive smart ass answers. This forum was created in order to separate those who may ask these types of questions and those who get frustrated answering the same questions.

Chris, I do normally totally ignore this section if that makes you feel any better. But anyway, this is what I am seeing happening here. Someone asks a weak question or posts that they have done something stupid. Me or one of the others likes me yells at that person for being dumb and tell them what they did wrong. Then a bunch of bleeding heart pansies wine and cry, everyone gets mad at me, the initial guy sees that I am unpopular and then ignores the good info imbeded in my post and will learn nothing and will probably be asking the same, a similar or follow up question the next day or post something like "blew my engine..." in which case all the pansy whiners will say, "damn bro, sorry to hear that, it sucks," but not be able to tell the guy anything usefull.

The problem is that Joe and I and the others like us are like parents, we may look like the bad guys now but in the end we are right and know what we are doing. It's just that nobody sees this and we end up being blacklisted and nobody is getting any smarter because they won't listen.

Don't vent your BOV to the atmosphere == Don't drink beer underage.

I think our sterness should be more tolerated. Even when we rip someone apart or make fun of them they still usually learn something. Wouldn't you rather learn something from a "jerk" then learn nothing from someone who is really nice? The problem is getting people to just listen to what we have to say. Maybe you can come up with something that will help that.

I completely agree with Batman and GoFast TSI. I too am in the same boat. I try my hardest to sway people in the right direction, but instead I get suicide notes from members because I called them a wee-wee head. The problem with the newbie forum is this: When a newbie asks a question, 20 other c*ckbreath toolshed semi-retarded ignorant morons come and answer his question with even WORSE information than the original poster. It takes knowledgeable people like Josh, and Joe, and Nick Drake, Sean (Tev), and myself to set these people straight. Here's your problem: Each and every one of us is so sick and tired of answering the same questions over and over, and have walking c*ck-holsters like BlitzedEclipse chime in and tell us how wrong we are, when they don't know whether to sh*t or go blind! Sugar coating gets physically painful after such tried repetition. We don't come on here for own own personal gain. When was the last time you saw ANY of the above mentioned people asking a question about a car? I'm gonna go ahead and be cocky here and say the reason for that is because we DON'T NEED TO! We come on here because we enjoy fast cars so much that we HATE seeing people go in the wrong direction. We try to correct them without compromising who we really are. Here is another cocky statement. These newbies are LUCKY, (no seriously) that people as knowledgeable as us even take the time to answer their questions. We don't have to help these guys out. But we take the time to do it. Even if the time we take out is to call you a moron, that should be your wakeup call to say "hey..maybe I should ake a step back and look at what I'm doing." When we post, believe it or not, it is for the benefit of the DSM community. It's one last stitch effort to prevent us from turning out another generation of meatheaded rice boi's that give the import scene an even worse name that it already has. Flame on...

Regards,

hahaha i understand what these guys are saying chris. i really do, and on ocassion i ask a stupid question myself but thats the price of knowledge right guys?

Well i think what Chris is saying is to be a little nicer to the other guys who have done something stupid and not bash them in for it. Yes we know that you would have never done it or else you wouldn't be so ticked at the idiotic stuff some of these guys do, and on occasion myself.

But i think what this is saying, is to please try to tolerate them and help them out eventhough they did something completely stupid. And they are completely out of your league. Well the term sensai comes in mind. Pls become teachers to these guys. And correctly translate sensai means the one who has walked the steps infront of me. :) im sure they see you guys as teachers and so do i :p

...Did someone call me? No? I will go back into hiding then....

You got honorable mention in my post. Now you can tell your kids someday that you truly lived life.

Wow-wee Mr Aslan. Gee thanks. Now I feel like more of a man, where as before I was just a mere boy.

Take a hike, choad-meister. ;)

Don't you go telling all your friends that I made you a man!!

And it's Mr. Choad-meister.

One major problem is that nobody knows who the knowledgable people are. By coming off as an ass, you don't sound knowledgable, you sound bitter and unhelpful. There's simply no need to make fun of people when they're uneducated.

Here's what I'm willing to do... I'm willing to make a new usergroup that designates certain people as the experts (similar to a moderator) in order to show newbies who the knowledgable people are in the forums. If I do this, I'd require that these experts to NOT come off like asses to the newbies and have a little better attitude in here. Is this solution desirable? Josh, Aslan, Joe, Sean? You're not required to answer more questions, only to not bash the "stupid" or common ones.

Oh, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but Nick Drake (NDgsx) should be added as well if this comes about.
