I was out tonight with my friends and we went out to the races and a Integra RSX was racing a RX7 and the RX7 lost by like 1/2 a car. I was out that night with my friends car a 97 GST with an intake, tunabe exhaust, and uper intercooler piping, any how I challenged the RSX and beat it by a car length and he took of earlier than me and jumpt ahead by 1/2 a car but I caught up and beat him. Everyone thouht I was squeezing because A month before the RX7 had beat the GST a car length and a 1/2 because the car had a boost leak but any how they challenged us for next week and I am trying to convince my friend to install my turbo xs dual stage boost controller on his car and also the 2.5 inch race cat. I am thinking of running 16 psi on the higher boost and stock boost in low boost, but I want to know how much boost would be safe to run with the mods i mentioned. We can run him withought the boost controler and I am almost sure I can beat him but just incase they do somthing to their car because they want to bet 100 dollars and we agreed, because I doubt they will do anything to their car. The funny thing is nobody thought an eclipse could be fast, they just got mad and really fast acused me of usin nos and by the way the GST has a type s blow off valve.

what exactly are you asking here? if you can beat an rx-7? i highly doubt it since its a twin turbo rotary engine that is extremely fast.. if you were a gsx id say ya u could take him from the start and hold him off, but i dunno.. maybe the rx-7 cant drive worth crap?:talon:

If it is a non-turbo you will have no problem. I would only run a max of 16psi and that would be pushing it with the stock fuel pump.

I think i can beat it because the rx7 lost to the integra rsx and then i beat the rsx. The rx7 is automatice its turbo but its not all that fast. I was just asking to know how much boost would be safe to run on the stock fuel pump. I am thinking of running 15 psi if my friend letes orif he dont Ime pritty sure I can still give him a good run or beat him.

the rx7 has 255hp, with a few mod's that gst might be pretty close to that. And if you are a better driver, i'd say you could take him.

your mods say you are running 14lbs of boost one more psi wont matter.. it doesnt matter if its automatic or not, its an rx-7, they are very fast cars.. so what if the rx7 lost to the rsx maybe he messed up.. also its not an integra rsx.. its an acura rsx, it replaced the integra

if the rx7 can drive, they will beat you. they are quick cars, and lighter than DSMs (don't remember by how much though.)

no my car is not running I own a 91 awd talon with a lot more mods than my friends car and i was running 14 psi on stock boost and planning to run 20 psi after I install my afc. I was driving his car its a 97 gst. I have a stock lancer evolution turbo 16g which i thought it could be installed in my friends car but I am not sure what is needed. is it just a bolt on or would i need an install kit which i aint sure what they mean by install kit.

you expect to run 20lbs with just an afc? whats your fuel system like?
yes it would need an install kit, whats so special about a "lancer evo" 16g turbo? isn't it just like the other mits. 16g turbos? or does this one have more boost fluid in it?

my bad i didnt mean like that its that I have the turbo xs dual stage boost controler and i set 14 psi on the lower boost seting which would be kinda like running stock boost because thats the boost i use for daily driving.

well for my understanding the lancer 16g turbo have a biger turbine wheel therefore can boost more on them and they have to be beter than the small stock turbo on the generation 2 cars. The guy that owned the turbo was running 25 psi on this turbo and blew his bottom end so he sold me his 91 talon which came with the 16g turbo and i compared it to the tdo5 14b from the first generation cars and the turbine wheel was a little bigger. Ime not saying its all that much beter but ime sure it can flow beter than the t25.

I beat a 3G RX-7 when i was running my T-25. He was fully modded with FMIC, exhaust, intakes, yadda yadda. Had him be 3 cars in the quater. Couldnt touch him on the freeway though. If you can take him on the launch it sholdnt be a problem.

Smells like a scam here how do you know if maybe the rx-7 and rsx aren't friends and trying to get your friends moneyOMG .The auto rx-7 are still quick but not as fast off the line as a modded gst,but that really boils down to driver ability.:thumb: and if all else fails:

Actually off the line the opposite is true. IN the long run in identical cars a manual will win because you let it rev up to whatever you want when it shifts as opposed to an automatic. But off the launch a person with an auto will win. Basic physics, mashing one pedal ( in an auto) is faster than mashing one, and letting out another with forces in equilibrium in order to not roast the tires ( Exclude AWD ) which in turn slow reaction.

yeh I would be careful...I think the stock 6spd. RX7 TT was supposed to run 13.7's stock and that is magazine racing. Yeh the auto is a little slower say 14.2-14.3 but this one is moded right? I would say that it is gonna be a close and hard race. If you could I'd put that 16g on tonight and buy a kit kit for 200-300 because if you do that you will get the 100 back anyway. as long as you are a good driver anyway

auto rwd can launch quick if he puts it in gear and holds the brake and pushs the gas and release the brake at the rpm he wants to launch at. thats how my cousin raced his buick GN(t-type)

remember not every car is in tip top condition, mad cars were "fast" but not any more, once the apex seals start going on the rx7 they slow down alot. My car has 125 K and doesn't feel as responsive as my friends new motor in his gsx.

all 3rd gen rx7's are 13b tt's.. they run about a 13.1 at 107 stock, the car can run 10's on the stock stts setup(sequential twins) so good luck...woooohooo my first post...and just bc its auto doent mean jack..he/she will be more consistant and if you are manual then you have to do the good shifting.....oh yea that 13.1 stock is underratted
