Questions about coilovers

Do they replace the strut mounts?

Are their springs skinnier than stock springs? Judging by pics they seem to be. Would that be for a tougher spring?

No you keep the strut mounts, unless of course they are worn, then you should replace the strut mounts. And if the spring is thinner is probably going to be a manufacturer thing.

Coilovers are used to usually get lower pretty quickly and to lower the center of gravity of the car with less body roll.

What about these? Aren't those mounts up there or do they just connect to the mounts?

If they have the mounts on the coilover I believe you can remove the strut mount and just use the mounts on the coil over, but someone please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Complete coilovers like those shown in the Extreme ad include the top mounts. Coilover kits like Ground Control sell usually reuse the stock top mounts.

Okay, so it depends on the coilover. I was just wondering if it would be a waste to upgrade my strut mounts if down the road I'll be going for a set of coilovers. Thanks

I bought kw v3s and they don't even come with upper plates. I can't even find anything online that can be used with them. very frustrating ><
