Ok, so the question says it all. What intake pipe should i get for my 1991 eclipse gst, it is stock minus a full custom 3" exhaust, and since i live in OK and dont have emission checks the emissions crap:D is outa the way (blocked off at the intake mani. and what not.)
I have seen alot of diffrent brands, sizes, etc. and I am stumped on what would/is the best choice for me.

Thanks, Dustin.

Don't waste your time buying a intake for the stock 1G MAF, its a waste of money. Wait until you have all the supporting mods to run a 2G MAF. I promise you buy a hard intake pipe for your car with the 1G MAF and have a full 3" exhaust your gonna be hitting fuel cut everytime you put your foot to the floor. You want to gain power, throw on a 2g exhaust manifold and o2 housing and a 7cm exhaust housing for your turbo. I promise all that costs as much as a hard pipe and you'll feel more power in the butt dyno.

Any will be fine for a stock car. But do you have plans to go big on the turbo eventually? If so I suggest the FP intake if your looking for something that looks good and leaves room for improvements later. Other wise just look for one that looks good to you. I would look for a used one since they are all essentially just a pipe directing air to the turbo. Make sure you get one with the recirc port though so that you can keep the BOV recirculated properly.

Ok, im glad you reminded me about fuel cut, i havent really been able to WOT lately (need new tires and in a small town) i have already have worse fuel cut with my 3" than with stock i noticed LOL, any way if i was to get the 2g mani and o2 housing and 7cm exhaust housing what all would i have to do, is there any tunning i would have to get done (which is hard for me to do cus my town is about as small as a tick on a donkeys ass in the middle of no where) or is it bolt up kinda thing like the intake would be?

I'm gonna try to use one from SBR that I have from an Evo. I'll see if it works. Looks the same as the fp

I'm happy with my 2g maf dejon intake pipe. I'd pick something else up first though.

Personally, I would wait until you have the turbo you are going to be running for sure. You want to match the intake to the turbo inlet.

It was one of my last mods, buying a Dejon 4" intake to match up to the Holset HX40 I have. Also running speed density so I didn't have a need for a recirc tube which would have been an eye sore if I bought it years ago.

Since your 1g you could do a speed density conversion fairly cheap, using Ostrich + Jackal. Its never too early for tuning.

Then you can use any pipe that you want. No maf to worry about, no recirc tube to worry about if you want to vent that is.

Cxracing sells a a s-pipe for $18 in any size you want. It doesnt have a dejon sticker on it, but its not $140 either.

2g manifold, 02 housing, and 7 cm turbing housings are all bolt on precedures..

It will be a pain in the ass the first time you try taking all that stuff off..But after that it gets easier...

It's going to be a little harder than just undoing the maf and intake..But will be worth it in the end..

Once you have the supporting mods, just go with a 2g maf and it will work great for you. There is no reason to go to a GM Maf unless you are wanting to go big with the turbo and tuning setup.

Thank you for your help, I will probably do this I guess it's just a matter of finding those parts LOL, small town livin' isn't very good for scrap yards we have none here LOL.
