Open Dump Tube Vs. Closed

I slowly doing my exhaust from the turbo back and my next step is the O2 Housing. I have been looking at a Megan stock replacement but I have also seen these " Open dumps" and wondered if they are just for the sound or do they have any actual benefits? Any DANGERS I should be aware of? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

The purpose of an open dump tube O2 housing is to help prevent boost creep. They are loud when the wastegate opens. There is no danger in using one, but if you want to daily drive your car, my suggestion is to get a recirculated one, I've heard the noise level of an open dump can get really old, really fast.

The open dump tube get REALLY old really fast. I ran it for two weeks and I hated it. If you have the change and budget to recirculate it, I would.

I run open wastegate dump and I love it. Nothing like a little sound to compliment speed. And to everyone hating because its so loud wth hell did you guys do drive around WOT all day long?

open dump is cool about 90% of the time. When your at the track and your always running WOT all afternoon long it gets old and annoying. You will be able to control boost creep better with atmosphere dump than a recirculated o2. The only danger would be if you have noise regulations where you live, because you WILL get bothered for it.

Umm yes, who doesn't? Ever been to the shootout? If your not in boost at all times, your the out cast. I would way rather be able to hear my Borg spool the whole time than hear a huge exhaust leak!!!

you will get pulled over for it a few times with an open dump. They are stupid loud to where you most likely will not keep your window open under boost.

I agree with pretty much everyone else. At first I thought the roar was nice but it got old fast. I missed hearing my BOV's whistle and the air sucking through the turbo so I decided to go back. Open dump tube plus the drone of Apex'i equals downright ricey!
