wondering if anyone can tell me if evo valve springs will handle 500-550hp with no float? Also what size came can be run with these springs

when i say no float i mean will they handle 8000 rpm redlines with no float using a dk272 cam

Evo valve springs can take revs to 8k without floating, go to the Evo forums and do some research on them a bit. The cam is a different story, any cam that you can't run on a DSM's OEM valve train I wouldn't try and run on the Evo's springs. FP2's, HKS 272's, Kelford 272's would be the most aggressive I'd go on the Evo valve springs but revs to 8k are possible.

I know you didn't ask but for anyone reading this and interested in possibly running Evo valve springs they are great for a budget head build. Evo VIII & IX valve springs/retainers/seats/locks will work on our DSM's.

I have Evo 8 valve springs and retainers. The cams are Comp 101200's. I have a small 16g turbo, so there really isn't too much of a point in me revving out past 8k, but the valve train should be fine to that point.

I used them for the budget factor exactly. $40 for the springs and retainers. Don't count on finding them that cheap for long.

:rocks: My Evo IX springs were donated :rocks:
I asked if anyone wanted to donate their OEM valve springs to a poor DSM guy and I got 3 PM's in one day. He even lived close so I didn't even have to pay to ship...

im just wondering beacues its either these are some tomeis...im running a holset h1e thats gong to see some pretty heavy boost....25-33psi...i just want to knmow if the can handle the abuse a quarter mile at a time...ive picked up valves, bronze guides and 3g lifters from engnbuildr....i just want to know which would be better from tht point of view....plus the extra 230 bucks ill be saving is nice too:thumb:

Ok let's start this way. What is your setup? Do you even think you will be making power at 8k rpm? The rule of thumb is to shift 200rpm over your peak HP. So if your hp is peaking at 7000rpm, there is no need to take it higher than 7200rpm.
Throw it on a dyno before you start shifting at 8k rpm.
