hey guys

just bought an 96 eagle talon turbo from some guy, runs and drives great. the problem is im having if it sits overnight or more then 40 min. it takes like 7+ sec to start, sometimes 2-3 times. but if I drive it and turn it off then back on it starts right away. seems like a fuel problem?

i have a 97 talon turbo too and it takes some time to start too. did he put a lightweight flywheel in it, i put an 8lb in my car and it takes a little longer then a stock one would

The problem is the fuel system is losing it's pressure. There is a check valve in the pump that fails often. On most cars it's not a big deal cause when you turn the key "on" it primes but our don't so you have to crank for days to build pressure.

The check valve is news to me... hm, thanks for that.

An obvious thing to check for as well, would be a leak in the fuel line. Park on a clean, dry surface and see if a spot develops over the course of an hour or so. Or park on said surface and let it idle while you look. Could also haul yourself under the car and smell for gas.
