okay guys, im new to dsm's so please bear with me. im about to buy a 95 gsx and i think i know what all i want to do to it.

right now i can say i want an injen (or injen style) intake, 1g (or aftermarket) bov(recirculated of course, with hard dumptube), hard IC pipes, small FMIC, boost gauge/boost controller, ported 2g exhaust manifold, 2.5"(or 3"???) downpipe, 2.5" (or 3"??) exhaust with stock EVO8 muffler...am i missing anything? what "free mods" and "first mods" did i forget? i tried searching "free mods" and the link is broken. thanx guys.

oh, and whats this BCS restrictor mod again? i saw a list of "free mods" and "first mods" a while back, but can NOT find them for the life of me!

if you want to get a little more out of your 1g bov crush it in a vise a little and that tightens the open value that the springs had on it which means more boost. 2gs aren't made of metal so they would break if you tried the same but these are known to reach 24 psi if done properly

I think ive got what i want done, in my mind.

Basically "stage 0 and stage 1" from the upgrade path (probably wont touch the exhaust yet, if ever.)

1.) Will i not need fuel pump, injectors and tuning with such a mild (stage 0 and stage 1 upgrades minus exhaust upgrades for now) setup? Stock obd2 dsm ecu handle that mild setup?

2.) Also, IF i decide to touch the exhaust, which turbo upgrade would you suggest between a t28 and 14b? I love the quick spool and low end of the t25, but wouldnt mind more top-end, without destroying the spool time and lowend that the t25 offers...

If i were to upgrade the exhaust i would do, ported 2g ex-mani/t28, or ported 1g ex-mani/14b , either ported stock or aftermarket o2 housing , 2.5" mandrel downpipe , 2.5" high flow cat, 2.5" mandrel catback with LOOONNNNN 2.5" resonator to the quietest 2.5" muffler i can find. (maybe v6 gt eclipse? evo?) IF i were to upgrade exhaust, i'd want it as quiet as possible (yes, if i were to touch the exhaust/turbo i will replace fuel pump, injectors and dyno tune)

also, can either the t28 or 14b bolt up to the evo 3 manifold and o2 housing? or just 16g etc?

Hard recirc pipe? I'm assuming the one that connects the BOV back to the Intake?

I used a 1.5" piece of stainless, with a 45 degree bend in it, and some off the shelf clamps, and radiator hose for couplers.

I think I have a pic of it in my profile attached to an Injen intake.

exactly what i was asking for. any companies make/sell these, or will i have to make it?

anyone answer above questions 1 and 2?

I made mine, took about 10 minutes with a hacksaw, cost about 10 bucks.

1A) Do a fuel pump rewire
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...14-2g-fuel-pump-rewire-pictorial-diagram.html

This will help your power starved pump work more efficiently, also useful for when you upgrade to a new one.

Until you decide to change the T25 out, and get bigger injectors to support a larger Turbo you won't need to do anything to the stock ecu.

2A) The T-28 is a no brainer as far as installation goes, looks, and hooks up like stock. It also provides almost the same spool up characteristics of the T25 but doesn't die out at the top end, Flows as much as the 16g.

14B's are cheap, and an upgrade on the T25. but require an installation kit to fit.
If i were going this route, you may as well get an Evo 3 16g, Very good IMO, and can be had cheaper than a FP Big 28.

Just make sure to follow the suggested upgrade Paths, and have the required supporting Mods, otherwise you engine will go kaboom.

Replacing the exhaust, and DP won't hurt a thing. Don't worry about an O2 housing, you can port your own, same with the exhaust manifold.

A larger than stock DP 2.5, or 3.0 along with a free flowing catback will improve spool up of the charger , the size is really up to you, but if you are planning future mods, then go with the 3".

Lastly to address your question on a Muffler, Turbochargers actually quiet down the noise, but if you really want a quiet system look for multiple resonators in the system, and look for one without a "can"

hope that helps answer any questions.

I think im just going to leave everything exhast stock for now (mani, turbo back...)

im sure ill be happy with all stage 0 and all stage 1 mods (minus exhaust), plus suspension mods for a while.

i just plan on havin a ballsy fwd DD.

plan to buy a GSX for my track car, and GST with stage 0 and 1 mods with stock exhaust as my DD

Honestly just drop the idea of a 2.5" turbo back exhaust and just go with the 3" delete the cat and either run some thermal turbo back or just go to a muffler shop and run straight piping to a exhaust tip of your choice. No point in going 2.5" if you do plan to upgrade the turbo. The more air flow the more fun

Also go check out DSMLink its probably the best tuning program you can find for an eclipse for the price and its well worth investing into I haven't yet but from what I just saw Slow boy racing is doing a pretty good deal on them

Also, can anyone tell me which head is "better", 6 or 7 bolt?

One day I'd like to swap in a 6 bolt swap, but wondering which head is better.

I keep reading 6 bolt block is better, 2g ex mani is better, 2g trans is better, but which head/im is better?

This thread is pointless, to begin with, your title isn't significant. "NOOB QUESTION???"WTF I mean c'mon use something more effective so if this thread does get any tips, people can search for it! All your questions can be answered if you take some time into searching for it and above all use your "SHIFT" keys. I don't mean to be harsh but CMON MAN!! You're a PROVEN member, you should at least know the simple obivious rules!

Please calm down. I asked a simple question, there is no need for above post.

You broke 3 out of the 5 "before you reply" rules (Rule 1, 2 and 4 to be specific) just to tell him he broke a rule.

OP: The 2g head is usually the preferred choice.

Thank you for the informative post, is there a significant reason why the 2g head is preferred?

The 2g head will out flow a 1g head. Its ported a little more than the 1g is.

I Just double checked my facts. The 2g head may not be ported any more than the 1g head (I'm seeing conflicting data) but the 2g head does have a higher air velocity than the 1g head due to the design of the intake ports.

Can anyone confirm any of this with numbers?

You got that backwards 1g head has bigger ports and flows more.

Yeah i dug a little deeper and found that out. The 1g has a better flow but has a bad design. The 2g head is a better upgrade because of the higher floor of the ports which gives it a more "direct" shot past the valves which translates to a higher velocity of the air.

Someone correct me if im wrong.
