Hose question

Hey guys this may be a stupid question but I'll ask anyway.In the hose from the J-pipe nipple to the T going to the WGA and the BCS there is what looks like inserts in the hose that have a small orifice.What are these for? Are they needed? I was going to change this hose(lookin a bit rough)until I seen these. Thanks

They are not needed. Just replace is with nice new vacuum line and zip tie the ends.

Thanks 95 I just didn't want to screw anything up. Just out of curiosity what are they for?

To be honest I'm not sure. I just know they aren't needed.
