Thats all on the condiction of the one you have!
I would say just do it!
Your already in there, and it doesn't hurt to replace a major part!
How old is the old one?? You dont know?!? well if you replace it, you'll be sure to know how old the new one is! ;)

good luck man

to do a Full Rebuild You Will Need To Buy Piston Rings Main And Rod Bearings Full Gasket Set Water Pump Timing Belts If Your Not Gonna Remove Balance Shafts Timing Tensioners rollers Or How Ever You Call Then I(Im From Puerto Rico Not Good With Parts Names In English)Oil Filter And Spark Plugs Oil Pump Is Necesary Because Better Do It Now Than A Couple Moths Later Do The Whole Job To Have A Well Done Engine If I Forgot Anything Let Him Know Hes The One Rebuilding I Did 0.40 Bore On My Rebuild 91 eagle Talon

I would do the oil pump if you have the resources go for it. For a full rebuild the 4g kid had a pretty decent list, it really all depends on your bank account and goals. With more information I could recommend more ideas.

And 4g kid whats with the capitals on every word?

Space your stuff out it makes it much easier on the eyes:thumb:

A better question is what passed through your oil pump. If nothing, then you shouldn't need a new one. If lots of bearing parts passed through it, then you should check out the gears and look for signs of wear. If there is none, you should be fine.

Some forums keep people from posting completely in caps. To do that they only make the first letter capitalized.

OP, don't go through all of that work and leave a small detail like the oil pump, that keeps your engine alive, out of the equation.
