Brampton,
I posted the wrong fuse on my other post so here's the right one:

Ive searched and i followed the advice but i still keep popping fuses. It wont blow the fuses when i turn the key to ON. It will instantly blow up as soon as i turn the key to ACC.

I followed this post:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/pro...-start-when-postive-terminal-put-battery.html

I followed my harness but didnt find any shorted wires along the ign switch. Im getting really annoyed and the car is really pissing me off.

What ive done so far:

- Brand new alt
- fully charged battery (12.7v not running, 14.3v when running) (both alt and battery has been tested to work properly prior to installation)
- Check interior fuses (no blown fuses, no draw(checked with a multimeter)
- Check engine bay fuses (ALT keeps blowing)
- Check all ground, sanded and made sure i have a good contact
- Replaced ECU with a working one

After all of that, i still keep blowing fuses. I thought it was my coil pack, and noticed theres a bit of a sludge built up on the connection. Cleaned it up with a q-tip and the car ran for one day. Then it started to blow a fuse again.

Would a bad starter be a cause of the problem?

As well, i just had a compustar alarm installed 2 weeks before this happened. It ran fine for a week and a half. Then after i went to the track, it started blowing fuses.

At this point on. my suspicions are:

- Bad starter
- Bad alarm installation
- There's something i fried while i was at the track

Any thoughts?

I would be VERY careful if you are blowing the ignition fuse (I believe that fuse is 30amps?).

I was blowing mine for a while...would replace it and it would blow again in irregular frequencies...

In my situation, it turned out to be a small metal capacitor that is connected near the firewall. The capacitor is apparently there to reduce static in the radio due to the spark plugs.

The capacitor was arching on my metal fuel line. WTF

One day I got to work, shut off my car, and started it to see if it would still start. It wouldn't. I opened the hood, tried to find the cause....got back in the car and tried to start it one more time. As soon as I tried, I could see a small fire in the engine bay.

Turned out that the arching eventually burned through the fuel line and started on fire. If I tried to start it one more time....I'm guessing that I would have had a much bigger fire. I put the fire out with an extinguisher that I had in my car -- so no major damage was done.

MORAL of STORY: Don't drive your car if your ignition fuse is blowing...

Not sure if it's just a 2G thing or not. But my capacitor is just to the right (drivers side) of the intake manifold.

I was having this same problem for the past month. It can be as simple as a frayed wire somewhere that moves around and grounds out once in awhile. I found the little sliver of bare wire rubbing the bottom of my fpr after a month of searching, not I am having trouble getting spark. DSM's + electfical = no fun :(

I had a problem with a very similar thing a few months ago on my GST. There is a relay under the hood that looks like this:

If you notice, I had a blue wire that was supposed to be connected to it that was not connected. All I did was remove that top portion from the plug, like so:

And that car stopped blowing ignition fuses and it was perfectly drive-able. The relay is some sort of alternator power relay (don't quote me, I'm not 100% sure exactly which relay it is) but 1999 and up Mitsubishi cars didn't even use them, so I'm pretty sure it's safe to say you should try to find this relay and give this a go.

Best of luck to you!
