Brake pad choice

On my CTS-V (street/HDPE car) I have HP+ up front and HPS in the rear. This is a popular set-up on Vs being that the HP+s are fairly aggressive yet don't need to heat up much before being affective on the street. On my Talon, I don't know what pads I'm running, so no help there sorry.

Semi-metallic's are good, just watch the first few times you stop while casually driving it as they need to heat up a little before being effective.

I run the new Wagner ThermoQuiet ceramic pads from Advance Auto parts.

Very low dust, great stopping power, no shims, grease or other shit needed for installation and they have never squealed yet.

I have the upgraded 3000gt/2g GSX front calipers, so I am sure that helps with stopping power. I run them on my Tacoma also, and couldn't be happier.

really? i thought that was the whole purpose of getting them. could anyone suggest a highly dust-free pad then? i don't really need anything super performance wise...

Ceramic pads will not dust much at all. I run NAPA's ceramix pads and am very happy with them. Plus they have a lifetime warranty.

That's what I thought til I ran ebc greens. However, I've had good luck with other ceremics. I've used Satisfied, ProActs, etc. Right now I'm using Porterfield R4-S and I like them so far.

EBC Greens are the worst dusting pads I've ever had fyi. I'd pass on them.

I definitely agree. After washing the wheels, I would have dust on them the same day. And usually 3 days later, looked right back to how they were before washing them.

Another thing to consider if dust is a huge concern (better braking, noise and dust are always going to be trade-offs) is the color of the dust. For instance, on my set-up, the HP+s while dusting more also have black dust whereas the HPS has more of a light brownish dust. The brown isn't as noticable until it gets really bad.

I agree, Porterfield has some of the best pads and if you want to break hard, R4E. If you want a good street pad, R4S is a good one. They last and don't melt either!
