So i have searched and only came up with one thread but didn't answer my question.




I did a boost leak test, And as soon as i get air on the system, The valve opens. i have to put my hand and block it so i can test the rest of the areas.
My mechanic said that happens with them under a boost leak test, But not during a Dyno pull. or WOT on the road.
Is that correct? I dont have any problems holding my 23psi, and have pulled 49lbs on my old 6152e turbo. i opened the bov and the Black Rubber seal is not ripped. and it also sounds just fine.


Any ideas?
 
The top screw is stiff. about 3/4Down.

and as far as Vac lines, the top one is going to the Manifold.
and the buttom WAS T-off to my Turbo and Boost controller.
But not anymore, its going off to the atmosphere, Since my Aem boost controller is hooked up to it.
 
Use an uninterrupted line. Not sure how your meth is set up, but if there is any less pressure in that vac line than what the diaphragm of the BOV sees, it will open as if blowing off. This is the normal function of a BOV.

Under normal boosting conditions, the pressure from the vac line (and manifold) is the same as the diaphragm, which holds it down with the aid of the spring. When you let off the gas, the vac line sees less pressure and pulls open the BOV.

The spring is there only as a helper in the short amount of time the diaphragm sees more pressure than your intake manifold as you're building pressure, and to help keep the diaphragm down while both sides are of equal pressure.
