I'm lost I just redid my timing. I run it rich I lean it out. I just did a compression test, 185< across all the cylinders. When I start to get into boost I can hear my car knock. I get massive amounts of knock when I get into boost. :cry:I need help or any ideas. Please, I've been battling this for the last month or so...:(
 
have you checked the spark plugs and wires??? just a dumb idea, but I've herd of Spark Knocking before. I dunno if this is the case but its an idea... Other then that I'm not sure if the compreshion is coming out fine ect... humm
 
spark and wires are fine.I have Dsmlink and my ign. timing is at its lowest point. And the other day i got the "cyl. 4 misfire" code.
 
humm... Maybe the fuel system? just another idea, with a misfire idk tho, sry cant be of more help :(

I don't see a wideband listed in your mod list so how are you tuning? If your just turning up the boost until you get knock that is not the way to go about it if you want your engine to last very long. Get a wideband gauge so you can see your air fuel ratio and then you will know if your going lean or if you have a mechanical problem on your hand.

I have Dsmlink.
 
IIRC the AFR EST in DSMLink can be somewhat accurate so long as your airflow sliders are dead on, but I would never try to do a real tune going off of that alone. My TechEdge wideband is on the fritz and nothing is more annoying than not having a wideband to tune with. OP, I would say regardless a WBO2 is definitely on your lists of things to get, but while you're at it I would post a log so we can see what you see.

Yes a wideband is on the list. But I'm not even trying to fine tune yet because of this knock problem. I should be able to go into some boost without having a ton of knock.

Here is my last log. I'm going to re-time it in the morning. It's off by half a tooth.

Half a tooth? How'd you manage that? If timing is off, that could very well be the reason it isn't working very well. My car was off by a tooth earlier and ran like absolute ass.

EDIT: That log you posted is just an idle log, wrong file perhaps?

Now I can't find the right log. I'm just going to re-time it in the morning. And cross my fingers.
