Something squeeking and thumping

When I start the car something squeaks in the engine. And when I drive sometimes there is thumping in the pas anger side rear by the tire or something, any idea?

Squeaking in the engine ( im assuming around the engine if your car runs ) could be anything from a bad bottom end to a belt , you have to be more specific about the area. The thumping in the rear could also be many things, a tire with a flat spot or shifted belt, a locked rear strut. Try to be more specific.

Well, you only hear it squeak when the car turns out then it's fine. And sometimes when I go over slight bumps and such it thumps or knocks.

I dont understand what you meen by Turns out?

I assume you are talking about the noise in the rear with your last statement. If it happens over bumps i would jack the rear corner up and visually check for a locked strut, a broken spring, or a bushing in the suspension that might have blown out and is allowing play.

When the car turns on sorry, (Doing homework at the same time) It only squeeks for like 5 seconds then it stops. It doesn't do ti all the time though.

Is it realy high pitched like a belt? If so, its a realy common problem with DSM. The squeak loudly from the beltdrive when its moist outside, or when you engage the A\C. Its more of a squealing noise, if this is the problem.

Yeah, it sounds like it how to go about fixing it?

First you have to pin point if that is it or not. Should not be hard to figure out. There are a few threads on here that suggest differnet things. Such as putting candle wax on the belt lightly to band aid fix it.

Just make sure its not a more serious problem first, like a timing belt.

Well it sounds like its coming from the passenger side of the car. Would WD-40 work?

I would not suggest using wd-40 or belt dressing. This could cause the belt to " walk off " if you get unlucky. Make sure the belt is not frayed or very worn.

If its just the run of the mill start off whine, I would suggest just dealing with the 5 seconds of ear pain, before putting anything on it.

Like a said, just test a few things to make sure its not something serious. If it only happens at start up, make sure its not the throw out bearing, and its only happening with the clutch pushed in .

It only does it for a secound, when it's cold out side or it's kind of humid. How to fix this?

Have you checked your belts yet? Depending on the condition of them, it might be beneficial to just replace them instead of using some sort of cover up for the noise.

What would I be looking for in the belts?

Check to see if any are loose, cracking, look dryrotted, frayed.

If it only does it for 5 seconds throw an extra turn on the alt belt adjuster and if that doesn't work try adjusting the power steering belt a little. The belts are either loose or bad, I would check for loose first or if you haven't replaced them in a couple years just get all new ones and know they are good. Definitely check the harmonic balancer in either case just to be safe.
