Tips on pulling 1g engine with a hoist

I am a little stumped and honestly lack common sense. My car is on jack stands, everything is disconnected including the suspension and mounts and my engine is being held by my cherry picker. I am having trouble getting the passenger side tranny mount clear to remove the engine. On my 2g I just drop the engine down, swing it foward clear of the mount and then go up with it. But it seems like on my 1g I cant do that because the rear mount wont allow me to move the engine down far enough. Will some one please put me out of my misery?
 
I guess I'm confused. If all the mounts are off, then how do you need to clear the mount. In the multiple engine pulls/drops I've done, I just unbolt the bushing side of the mount from the unibody (4 bolts) and then unbolt the bracket from the trans (2 bolts) and ta-da. Nothing is restricting the pass. side unless you have ABS in which case... you need the angle the engine to clear it.
 
I find if you remove the alternator, it gives you a tad more room for when you hoist up the right side, then when its on enough of an angle the tranny will clear the frame. then pull straight up.

Note: take the tranny mount off through the passenger fender well for more clearance.
 
u need to hoist up the right side of ## motor a little bit higher than the left side so it will swing out .

Excactly what you need to do, it also helps to take the differentcial off first before lifting the motor out. It can be done with it connected but its way more of a PITA.

Do all of this and take the differential off. This is what I used when I took my motor out.
