I just order a hurst short throw shifter for my GSX and I just wanted to know if anybody has used one and what to expect. Comments? I would just like to know what to expect.:dsm:

My gst has one that the previous owner installed. I've only driven the car about 2 miles since I got it running but I like the shifter so far. It's really short but not hard to shift at all.

Here is the item number on ebay. 350101780807
they are buy it now for $20.00 and $10.00 to ship not a bad deal I thought.

I ran a local speed shop for years. The problem with hurst is, its not our fathers "hurst" , the ones they put in thier camaros and chevelles. Hurst sold out to Mr. Gasket many years ago. After that the quality greatly went down. I wouldnt put a hurst shifter in anything anymore. Some parts are plastic they should be metal, and the overall product isnt nice anymore. I would recomend B&M shifters. They come with all metal parts, all installation hardware, and the fitment and quality is the best on the market. I have B&M shifters in all of my cars. They are made out of a solid piece of aluminum and they have an amazing throw. Most of which are adjustable. My eclipse one i belive goes from 25% shorter to 55% shorter. All you do to shift is move your wrist. Another thing i would recomend you getting is solid linkage bushings ( 25$ from dsmparts.com ) and energy suspension shifter plate bushings ( also around 20 bucks ) they turn that sloppy oem feel into a stiff and very accurate throw.

I put sealed ball bearings in my linkage but the shifter plates sound like a good idea I'll check that out thanks.

The Hurst is essentially the same design as the B&M, with detail differences in the design of the fulcrum. It'll work just as well as the B&M, or the eBay copies of the B&M.
