2g SAFC II Mount

Just bought an SAFC II. When I mount it I would like to keep the center vents, as well as my stereo. Has there been anyone that has managed to mount it below the stereo? If so can I see some pics? Any other clever locations?

Thanks.

The best way I've seen is the get a single din CD player mounted on the top din, and 3M tape the SAFC to the bottom din. I generally like to keep the SAFC in the glove box. easier for the passenger to tune (which should really be the best way to do it) and less blingy "steal me".

Mine is in the glovebox as well. I do have a stand for it, and when I need to change things up a little, I just insert the "foot" of the stand in the crevice below the center vents. It's pretty visible and accessible that way.

I'm assuming you're talking about locating it below the STOCK radio?

I had mine located below my aftermarket radio if you would like to see pictures of that...

I don't have pics of this, but I bent the mount it comes with so that a tab can slide between the bottom edge of the center vents and the dash. If you slide it in near the middle of the vents, you can push it over to the right side and somewhat lock it into place. It gives me full use of the driver's side center vent, and I can slide the afc around to give more air to the passenger when necessary. The part I had to bend was the tab that had "Apex'i" on it, so that it was viewable. I however now use that tab to mount my EVC V's display module.

I don't expect what I wrote to make sense to anyone other than those that have an AFC with the included mount

I like this mounting scheme because the unit as a whole is movable. I can hide it in the glove compartment when necessary. I do this whenever I park for an extended period of time or in a shady area. I also, given enough time, move them if a cop pulls me over for anything as they seem to act quite biased against me with them showing. I unfortunately have a lot of experience being pulled over in northern VA and believe me they often act very different with the afc/evc out and when it's hidden.

Mine is located on the flat spot to the right of the cigarette lighter using Velcro. I ran the wires underneath the center console.

mine was on the to the right of the cigarette lighter. I just picked up some velcro and ran the wires up and drilled a very tiny hole to the right of the aftermarket radio and put the wires through there. fairly easy and in my opinion, best place to put it!

I like that, although the bottom part underneath the stereo on my car doesn't have a cover on it. Its just empty space to store things.

hey i don't know if it helps but i put mine in the same spot and used the 3m tape with the velcrow that you get from the EZpass, toll collectors. it works fine but i've also seen it mounted on the top of the dash using the same stuff.

Here are some ideas for your AFC install. And none of them will compromise your stereo or center vents.
