To start this is a 90' motor in a 92'. So I just installed the punishment racing radiator kit. I installed a new thermo sensor as my old one hadn't worked for a while and I didn't want to use the heater control to turn the fan on anymore. So here's my problem, I wired up the fans using the stock passenger side fan wiring, my car didn't come with a/c. The passenger side fan works get, it pulls hard, however the driver side fan doesn't work at all even though they're wired in parallel WTF. Can someone explain to me why only one fan is working, is there not enough current to drive the other (but then they should both work just slower) very confused. I found the plug in the wiring harness for the a/c fan I think, if my only option is to wire it that then I will but it just seems strange that only one fan works when they're wired together. Oh yeah and this setup really helped my temps, at idle I'm at 180 and driving it's 200, before I was running really hot don't know what the temps where though, I just installed the gauge.

Oh and before someone says something I've read through every fan wiring post and couldn't find anything directly related to this.

I know I only need one, but I'm going by the, if one is good then two must be great theory haha. Can someone give me some input on testing the fan, what should the ohms be? I am going to try unplugging the working one later and see if that works but I doubt it. Does any have any other suggestions?

Also since I have a thread going, my heater/blower inside does not work and hasn't since I bought this car. I checked the fuse. Could this be from having a 90 ecu in a 92 shell? Also isn't there a resistor pack thing under the dash that controls the blower speeds, could this be bad? Does anyone have pictures of the location or the exact name so I can look it up.

Make sure the wires going to the second fan are all good. You might have a bad wire in there. Either that or you might have wired it wrong. Double check your work.

I checked and double checked, but I'll take another look later though it can't hurt, I was in a rush.

An easy way to test would be to plug the second fan in where the first fan is. You already know the first fan's wiring is good, so that should tell you instantly if the second fan is working or not. Conversely, you can plug fan #1 into wiring #2, and that will tell if you if the wiring is good.

If the plugs are different, you can jury rig a way to feed +12v and ground to each pin to see if the fan works. Just be careful not to short things, go slow and be patient.

Most likely a bad connection of sorts. I'm guessing the #2 wiring is bad somehow (assuming that the second fan is supposed to come on at all, I have no clue what the wiring setup is like)

Basically the way it is wire is that, I cut the plug off the stock fan and wired both of the new fans together off the stock plug.

If they're both wired together from the same source, and one works while the other doesn't, then it seems clear that one of the fans (or its wiring) is faulty. The only exception I can think of is if there weren't enough amperage to allow both fans to start, but then you'd expect both fans to have trouble, and for the remaining fan not to function very well if at all.

I'd still remove that second fan and test it directly from a 12v source (carefully!). But without any other tests, seems like a bad fan.

Ok I tested the fan and it's a no go the fan is faulty. I ordered this from punishment racing, they should warranty this right, I mean they are a reputable vendor.

Ok I have an update I emailed punishment racing and they said they would send me a new fan no questions asked. I was very pleased with their service.
