[RESOLVED] Idle RPM's & Boost?

Alright, well first off let me apologize ahead of time for the retarted question. I have read quite a few posts on this site about boost & RPM problems. My question is; what should the Boost gauge (?psi) & RPM gauge (? RPM's) read when the car is idle?

BTW: I am not talking about that piece of crap gauge that comes stock. I am talking about an aftermarket boost gauge.

An aftermarket boost gauge should read in the high teens to -20" of vacuum on a stock cam car. With my fp2 cams mine reads -15" of vacuum.

how do you get your vac to sit that low? I vac anywhere from 20 - 15. Im just wondering how to get that much vac?

Check for vacuum leaks.

yeah, something is not right. mine sits somewhere between -15 and -21 on comp 10200 cams(hks 264/272)

oh and rpms should be between 850 and 900 at idle

Check for vacuum leaks.

Well, no, vacuum leaks won't bring on a higher vacuum reading.

If the vacuum gauge is showing 30"Hg, throw it away and get a new one. That's higher than perfect vacuum.
