I found a set of evo9 rods and pistons and wanted to know if these would drop straight into my 7bolt or 6bolt? It looks to be coming with bearings as well. I found them for 299 for the set and wanted to know how durable these are if they work in our DSM's

they will fit a 7 bolt. you can use the pistons on a 6 bolt but you would have to get your rods machined just like for 2g pistons for the bigger wrist pin

Here's my question in all of this.

What about the rod direction? Stock DSM rods and pistons are directional, but if you install Evo pistons in a 2G 7-bolt block so that the valve dimples are correct, the rods would be backward. The "front" of an Evo engine is on the passenger's side of the car, while the "front" of OUR engines is the driver's side....but the heads are flipped.

Anyone run into this?
